Terms of service and sale
Dossier's terms
English version. The French version prevails if they disagree.
1. Who we are
Dossier is run by Mathieu Mahoudeau, entrepreneur individuel (EI) trading as OMAKO, SIREN 812 843 050, 38, boulevard d'Annam, 13016 Marseille, France. VAT not applicable, article 293 B of the French tax code.
In these terms, "we" and "us" mean OMAKO. "You" means the person or business with a Dossier account. A "reader" is anyone who opens something you share.
Contact: mm@omako.fr.
These terms exist in French and English. If they disagree, the French version prevails.
2. What Dossier is
- Dossier lets you write slide decks and docs, gather them into dossiers, and share them through links.
- You can work in the web editor, the command line, the HTTP API, or through an AI agent connected over MCP.
- Every save is a new version. Content that doesn't fit the schema is refused.
- A share link can be public, protected by a password, or limited to a list of emails and domains. With email codes on, readers prove their address with a one-time code.
- Stats show you who opened what you shared, which slides or sections they read, and for how long.
- These terms apply to every way in: the editor, the command line, the API and MCP.
3. Accounts
- You sign in through our accounts service at id.omako.dev. Keep your sign-in methods and your personal access tokens safe. Anything done with them counts as done by you.
- You must be 18 or over, or old enough to make a contract where you live.
- Give us a working email address. It's how we reach you about your account, billing and changes to these terms.
- One account is for one person, and so is a Pro subscription. A business can hold one account per person who works on it.
4. The beta
- During the beta, Dossier is invite-only. We send invites from the waitlist.
- Beta users get Pro free until the beta ends.
- Things will change during the beta: features, limits, the look. Some things will break. We'll fix what we can and tell you about what matters.
- We'll give you at least 30 days' notice by email before the beta ends, and remind you 7 days before.
- When it ends, you choose: subscribe to Pro, or move to Free. If you do nothing, your account moves to Free (section 12).
5. Acceptable use
You may not use Dossier to:
- publish anything illegal, including content that infringes someone else's rights;
- phish, or collect passwords, payment details or personal data under false pretences;
- spread malware, or link to it;
- impersonate a person, a company or a public body;
- harass, threaten or defame anyone;
- send spam, or use email gates to mail people who didn't ask for it;
- probe, overload or get around the service's limits and security, or reach another account's data;
- resell the service, or run it for others as if it were yours, without our written agreement.
6. Reports and take-downs
- Every shared page has a Report link. Anyone can also write to mm@omako.fr with the page's address and the reason.
- We look at each report. If content breaks the law or section 5, we can take it down, hide a whole account's pages, or suspend the account. A page taken down shows "This page was taken down".
- We'll tell you what we removed and why, unless the law stops us or telling you would help the harm continue (an active phishing page, for example). You can reply to contest it, and we'll look again.
- In urgent cases (phishing, malware, a clear legal order) we act first and tell you after.
- We don't watch what you write. We act on reports and on what we come across.
7. Your content
- What you write and upload stays yours.
- You give us a licence to store, copy, render, convert (to PDF, preview images and link previews) and serve your content, only to run Dossier for you and the readers you share with. It's worldwide, free, and ends when your content is deleted, except for copies in backups until they age out (section 14).
- We don't use your content to train AI models, sell it, or show ads against it.
- You confirm you have the rights to what you put in Dossier, including images and other people's names and words.
- You're responsible for what you share and who you share it with. A public link can be opened by anyone who has it. A public link at a readable address can be guessed.
8. AI agents acting for you
- You can connect AI agents (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, any MCP client) and scripts to your account, through OAuth or a personal access token.
- An agent you connect acts on your behalf. You're responsible for what it saves, shares and deletes, as if you had done it.
- Check what your agents share before readers see it. Revoke a token or disconnect an app as soon as you stop trusting it.
- Each version records who saved it and through which app. That history is a record, not a promise that the agent did what you meant.
- We don't run AI on the site, and we aren't responsible for what an outside AI model writes.
9. Plans, limits and prices
- There are two plans, Free and Pro. The current limits and prices are on the pricing. At the time of writing:
- Free: 10 decks and docs, 10 share links plus 1 dossier with its own link, 1 GB for images, public and password links, the "Made with Dossier" credit always on.
- Pro: €9.99 a month or €99 a year, for one person. No ceiling on decks, docs, links or dossiers, 10 GB for images, email gates, per-reader stats, your own theme, and the rest listed on the pricing.
- Fair use. Pro is priced for one person's work. If an account's use puts the service at risk for others, we'll contact you first and agree a fix before limiting anything.
- At a limit, Dossier refuses the new item and says why. Editing what you already have is never refused.
- Founding price. Beta users can subscribe to Pro at €4.99 a month or €49 a year. The offer stays open to them with no end date, even if they subscribe long after the beta. Once subscribed, the price holds as long as the subscription stays active. If you cancel and come back, you can take the founding price again.
- Trial. You can try Pro free for 14 days, with no card, once per workspace. At the end you subscribe or stay on Free.
- Price changes. We'll email you at least 30 days before a change to the price you pay. It applies from your next renewal after that, and you can cancel before it does. A price change never touches a founding price.
- Prices are net: TVA non applicable, art. 293 B du CGI. The price shown is the price you pay.
10. Payment
- You buy Pro from us. Stripe processes the payment for us and sends the invoice in our name, with the mention "TVA non applicable, art. 293 B du CGI".
- Your contract, for the service and the payment, is with us.
- Subscriptions renew automatically, monthly or yearly, until you cancel.
- If a payment fails, Stripe retries it for a while, and your account stays on Pro meanwhile. If payment still fails, the subscription ends and your account moves to Free (section 12).
- For billing questions, write to us. Refunds come from us, through Stripe, to the card you paid with.
11. Your right to withdraw (EU consumers)
This section applies only if you're a consumer in the European Union, buying for yourself and not for your business.
- You have 14 days from the day you subscribe to withdraw, without giving a reason.
- Pro starts as soon as you subscribe. At checkout you tick a box asking for it to start at once, during the 14 days. We keep a record of that request.
- If you withdraw after Pro started, you pay only for the days you used, in proportion to the price. The rest is refunded within 14 days of your request, to the card you paid with.
- To withdraw, write to mm@omako.fr saying you withdraw from your Dossier subscription. You can use the model form at the end of these terms, but you don't have to.
- A business customer has no withdrawal right.
12. Cancelling and downgrading
- You can cancel at any time from your account. Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for. We don't refund the rest of a period, except under section 11 or where the law says so.
- When your account moves to Free, for whatever reason:
- links you already sent keep working;
- items over Free's limits become read-only, newest first, until you're back under them;
- you can always delete items or turn links off;
- Pro-only features stop on new items, and the "Made with Dossier" credit comes back.
- Nothing is deleted because you downgraded.
13. Availability
- We work to keep Dossier up, but there's no guaranteed uptime, and none during the beta.
- We may stop the service for maintenance, at quiet hours when we can, with notice when we can.
- Dossier depends on outside services: hosting, email, DNS, your AI client. We aren't responsible for their outages.
- Embeds and external links in your content point to other sites. We don't control them.
14. Backups, export and deletion
- We back up the database every night on our hosting in France, check each copy, and test a restore every month. Backups protect the service. They aren't a restore service for your own mistakes, though we'll try to help.
- Every save is a version, so you can go back to any earlier one yourself.
- You can export your whole workspace at any time, from the API or the command line: decks and docs, every version, dossiers, links (without passwords), stats totals and uploads.
- You can delete your workspace at any time. It disappears at once for everyone, its links stop working, and we purge every row and file 30 days later.
- Backups made before the purge keep the data until they age out, up to a year. We never use them to bring back a deleted workspace, only to recover the whole service.
- Readers' detailed stats (typed emails, IP hashes, per-page reading) are kept 13 months, then rolled into monthly totals and deleted.
15. Ending your account
- You can stop at any time by deleting your workspace (section 14).
- We can suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, after telling you why and giving you a chance to fix it, except in the urgent cases of section 6.4.
- We can end the service as a whole with at least 60 days' notice. You'd have that time to export, and we'd refund any paid period left after the end.
16. Liability
- We're responsible for the harm we cause by not doing what these terms say, within the limits below.
- Business customers: we aren't liable for indirect loss, such as lost profit, lost business, or lost data you could have exported. Our total liability over any 12 months is capped at what you paid us in those 12 months, or €100 if that's more.
- Consumers: you keep every right French and EU consumer law gives you. Nothing in this section limits them.
- Nothing here limits liability for death or injury, gross negligence, fraud, or anything else the law doesn't let us limit.
- You're liable for the content you and your agents put in Dossier. If you're a business customer, you'll cover us against claims from third parties about it.
17. Personal data
- Our privacy notice says what we keep about you and your readers, and why.
- When you share with readers, we process their data (the email they type at a gate, IP hashes, what they read) on your behalf. For business customers, our data processing agreement covers it and is part of these terms.
18. Changes to these terms
- We may change these terms, for example when the service or the law changes.
- We'll email you at least 30 days before a change that matters to you, and show the new date at the top. Small fixes, like a typo or a new contact address, take effect when posted.
- If you don't accept a change, you can cancel before it applies, and get a refund of any paid period left after that date.
19. Law, disputes and mediation
- These terms are under French law.
- If something goes wrong, write to us first at mm@omako.fr. Most things get fixed that way.
- Consumers: if we can't agree after you've written to us, you can go to a consumer mediator for free: CM2C, 49 rue de Ponthieu, 75008 Paris, 01 89 47 00 14, cm2c.net, litiges@cm2c.net. You keep the right to go to the courts your consumer law allows, including those where you live.
- Business customers: any dispute goes to the courts of Marseille.
20. Other
- If one clause is found invalid, the rest still applies.
- Not enforcing a clause once isn't giving it up.
- You may not transfer your account or these terms without our agreement. We may transfer them to a company that takes over Dossier, and we'll tell you.
